I recently picked up a fitness magazine spouting "Great New Weight Loss Tips That Will Change Your Life". Wow, change my life? I must read... Okay, I've read them an now I must share two of the "life changing" tips.
Tip #1--Drink more water: Not a new concept but one that we tire of easily. Make water more exciting by drinking it out of a pretty glass.
Who writes this stuff--a pretty glass? Now I'm sure to lose weight!
Tip #2--Eat Slower: Again, not a new concept. Try eating with your opposite hand to slow your pace.
I'm thinking this would make quite a mess or even worse I would end up eating with both hands which would only double my consumption pace.
Surely we can come up with better weight loss ideas than these.

Mary Mary Quite Contrary How Does Your garden Grow?
I don't know how Mary's garden is growing but ours looks fantastic (If I do say so myself).
Take a look for yourself!
Take a look for yourself!
Gabe and Scott have each claimed a pumpkin plant as their own. They are competing to see who can grow the biggest pumpkin.
Can I tell you how tired I am of watering these little guys. Six buckets of water everyday.

We Went A Gathering
The boys and I had a wild hair today. We decided that we would go to the local berry patch, pick berries and make jelly. So we grabbed lunch and headed for Kelley's Berries outside Lebanon. I made the mistake of asking the boys what kind of berries we wanted. Of course they all had a different opinion. So we picked and picked and picked, ending up with strawberries, blueberries and blackberries. When it was all said and done, we headed home with (hold onto your hat), nineteen pounds of berries. The farm really should of weighed us before and after because I think we sampled as many berries as went into our buckets. As I picked, I heard things like, "this strawberry tastes like it already has sugar on it" and "mmmmm, berry-licious". I believe Jared even said, "We can take some of these to Illinois with us.", which his big brother sarcastically responded with, "Mr. Strawberry I'd like you to meet grandma and grandpa.". We had a great time. When we got home, Jacob read the instruction as I made the jam. First we had to google to figure out the difference between jelly and jam. (FYI-jelly is made with fruit juice while jam has crushed fruit) Don't ask me where preserves falls into the mix cause I don't know. We now have six jars of strawberry jam, eight jars of blackberry jam and a blueberry pie waiting to bake. It was a berry good day!

Viva Las Vegas
I had to laugh because I gave this blog entry it's title and Jacob asked what does viva mean. I began singing the Elvis version and his reply was, "Isn't that the viagra commercial song? Viva viagra...". Too funny.
Anyway, Scott and I had a blast in Las Vegas. We took in a couple of shows, ate many wonderful meals (Thanks for the Mon Ami Gabi recommendation Dad & Martha. Their steaks rocked!)and actually walked around town holding hands like we did pre-kids. We enjoyed three glorious days together until my last evening there, Scott got food poisoning, spending the rest of the evening and all night long sick in the bathroom. We've been to Vegas 3 times in the last four years and he has had food poisoning 2 of the 3 times. I'm beginning to think that too much alone time with me makes Scott want to puke. Should I be offended?

Playing Catch Up
It's no secret that I'm a blogging slacker so I am going to play a little catch up on the last month.
Gabe was "Top Dog" for the month of May for his kindegarten class. He was so proud of himself, almost as proud as his mom and dad.
Gabe is officially a first grader. We had the priviledge of attending his kindergarten graduation. The boys and girls had worked so hard learning dances, memorizing lines and many songs.
I realize that this video is sideways but it's just too cute not to post.
