We're two weeks into school and I am drowning in fundraisers. It's actually a little ridiculous. Here's the list...
Jacob-Baseball Golf Tournament (must sign up a foursome and get 1 hole sponsor)
Jacob-Booster Club Memberships
Jacob-Chicken Tenders and Beef Brisket (must sell 10)
Jacob-Entertainment Books
Jared-Marathon Game Pledges
Gabe-Cookie Dough Sale
I mean, come on, can one family actually sell this much stuff and still have family members, neighbors and co-workers that will still speak to you?

Back to School
We now have the first week of school under our belt. It took us a while to work out the logistics of pick up but I think we have it figured out. Gabe has a new bus driver, bus number, and route which made him very nervous all week. He approached his teacher in tears several times last week afraid he would miss the bus or get on the wrong bus, so she assigned him a bus buddy in 5th grade that comes to his class and walks to the bus with him. Thank you Ms. Phillips! Overall it was a great week. The boys have really good schedules and teachers. What more can you ask for (besides sleeping until 9am)?

Surprise!
A few weeks ago Scott took off Friday and we woke up the boys and said pack up a change of clothes, hiking boots and swimming trunks. We loaded in the car and headed North on I65. They had no idea, so we played guess where we're going. Remember, we're traveling North and we've already hit Kentucky and the boys are guessing....
Boys: Cruise
Us: With one change of clothes?
Boys: the beach?
Us: We're in Kentucky?
Have I told you how smart our kids are lately? In their defense, those are our typical vacations. Anyway, when we could no longer stand the guessing, we gave them a hint...MLB. We were headed to Cincinnati to a Reds game. We drove up Friday morning for a Friday night game, stayed downtown so we could walk across the river to the stadium.

I would highly recommend razorgator.com for any MLB ticket purchases. Our tickets were exactly as described--only 7 rows from the field behind first base (see the vendor selling "peanuts, cold beer,"? That's about were we sat.)
Reds shortstop, Brandon Phillips, came over and signed autographs before the game.

Picture of Reds pitcher from our seats.
So we woke up the next morning and told the boys that we're headed home but have one more stop to make in Kentucky. Mamoth Cave (thus the hiking boots).

Better Late Than Never
I know I promised, but we had a baseball meeting last night that ran long. My apologies for breaking a promise but it was 9:00pm with a bedtime routine still to go. So anyway, better late than never. Right?
So what have we been up to lately?
We took a trip to Illinois to visit the Grandma's and Grandpa's. The boys rode 4-wheelers and showed their artistic talents by helping Grandpa paint a hunting shed.

An Update is on the Way!
I just checked the blog for the first time in forever and saw I had 22 comments. After laughing hysterically...I get the hint. I promise when I return from work this afternoon I will update! Thanks for the laugh this morning. I'm thinking Mark is the culprit but the Dukes of Hazard makes me think Scott had a hand in there too.
