Gabe...dating?

I meet Gabe at the bus earlier this week and we had a very interesting conversation.

Mom: Did you have a good day at school today?

Gabe: Yes

Mom: Did you do anything exciting?

Gabe: I'm going on a date Sunday.

Mom: Really...with who?

Gabe: Eden....(pause) but she's not ready yet.

Gabe: She didn't know what a date is.

Mom: What is a date?

Gabe: It's when you go somewhere with someone.

From there Gabe asked if he could call Eden. I gave him all the reasons why he didn't need to call a girl the biggest one being that he's in kindergarten. So if he can't call her he wants to know if she can call him. So I had to pull out my "girls aren't supposed to call boys" speech that my mom gave me that I thought was really dumb at the time, but seems to be the way it's supposed to work. Does the "girls aren't supposed to call boys" rule still apply? Just wondering. Anywho...Gabe is NOT going on a date Sunday even if Eden calls and asks him.

I'm sure Eden's father may have a problem with this date as well. That picture gives me a christmas present idea. Can you guess?

A Blue velvet leisure suit?

Oops, I didn't mean to be anonymous, Margaret Crow guessed the blue velvet leisure suit. I am not mysterious enough to be anonymous.

Gee......the thought of Gabe dating, that is mind blowing. Maybe you can convince him that he really should wait until Jacob, then Jared have dates, first? I hope he doesn't notice the limo service on Leb. rd!

Sounds to me that Gabe is following in not only his father's footsteps, but uncles' as well. Personally, I think the "girls don't call boys" rule still applies; however, texting has tossed that out the window!!

Maybe you should ask him how he's going to pay for the date? That might slow him a little....
