Every year we have the pumpkin debate in our house. Is it better to carve your pumpkin with the cool new stencils that are readily available in any area store or is it better to carve your pumpkin the old fashioned way by drawing a face on the pumpkin and then carving. Of course the correct answer depends on your personal preference, your patience level and your desire for perfection. This year we used both the old school and the "new and improved" techniques--see what you think.

Michelle - you are amazing. Your blog just keeps getting better and better! We were going to carve pumpkins last night, but Colleen had to build a matchstick bridge for science. So tonight it is and the funniest thing is, Michael won't touch the pumpkin until Colleen or someone else has scraped out the goo! Who would have thought he was so squeamish!!
If I have to choose, I would have to go with pie. mmmm..pie. Not pumpkin though, probably cherry.. Ya cherry pie with vannila ice cream. Wait, what was the question again? Oh. Sorry, I don't carve pumpkins, so I don't have a prefered method. I like pie though. Do you have any questions related to pie? Everyone's thinking about pie now aren't they? ha ha
Michelle,, your photo's are so interesting ! I think the boys' carvings are fun but the pictures are really telling the story ! Have you noticed that each year, you have fewer large spoons!
do you like pecan pie made from beans?
It's not my favorite, but hey it's pie. So I'll eat it.
