Lots of action at the building site yesterday. They started bricking the house and got a ton done in one day. I couldn't believe it. On the inside the insulators got started. The caulked or added "great stuff" (you know that expanding foam stuff) to any openings around wires, pipes, or other nooks and crannies. Makes me feel good about keeping little critters out of the house. You know how I hate thos little pests. After caulking, the started hanging this cheesecloth like fabric on all the walls. Today they start blowing in the insulation.

I read an online article that said that expanding foam stuff has a scent that attracts rodents. Not just mice, but rats, squirells, and even in one case beavers. Turns out they built their house overlooking a river and they had several cases of beavers chewing on the house. Which turned out quite expensive since most insurance policies exclude coverage for vermin and pests. It had something to do with a by product of a photonutrient used as a stabilizer during manufacturing. The industry has since stopped using it but that there are some still on the market. You may want to check with your builder and make sure which one they are using.
Nice one Mark...photonutrient, huh? Sounds like someone is full of puddin'. lol
Hey yo, what's with the attitude lil lady? I'm just trying to pass along some solid well researched intel and help ya'll out, but if your gonna doubt me and insult my efforts...well, whatever. You're on your own. Just don't come cryin to me when you're lousy with beavers. Beavers up to here I tell ya.
