Joseph was traveling home from work the other night when he noticed a middle aged women on the side of the road having car trouble. Being the good samaritan that he is, he stopped, rolled down the window and asked if she needed help. She did require some assistance so he told her that he only lived a few minutes away and that he was going to run home, change out of his dress clothes and would be back to help. Joseph said that something just didn't feel quite right so he grabbed his pistol (he has a concealed carry permit) and returned to help. As he pulled up, the lady came walking toward him with her hands together and her coat draped over them. I'm a little sketchy on how it happened, but the lady had a gun, there was a scuffle and it ended up with the lady tied up and the police being called. The police said that the lady was drunk and she was driving a stolen vehicle. She was probably intending on stealing Joseph's car or worse. Thankfully she got more than she bargained for with Joseph.
Joseph will have to leave us some comments and give us some details. I for one am glad that he listened to his instincts and saved some other unsuspecting, less capable person from whatever plans this lady had in mind. Thanks Joseph, you're our hero!

He was brave, and we're very lucky that his guardian angel was watching over him.
On a lighter note, wonder if his darling wife knows he's planning to name their sons: Walker and Texas Ranger???
Way to go Joseph, you are truly a hero. I shutter to think what could have happened to you and like Michelle said, some unsuspecting, helpless good samaritan.
Did Barney have his bullet with him?
close on the description but coat was in the ditch covering the gun. she moved the coat, i saw the gun. as she started pointing it toward me i slung my door into her and had my gun drawn. after a slight incident and alot of yelling on my part i "convinced" her to let go of the gun. tied her hands behind her back and drug her up onto the road to wait on cops. thats the condensed and censored version. I'm sure she had a raging headache in the morning! 4 county cops and 5 state troopers later the phrase "i'd have shot her was heard at least 4 times". any way morel of the story, just call the cops in the beginning and save yourself the time, oh and make sure you have your gun. feel free to ask me if you want the full version :-)
I decided I wanted to be a hero like Joseph. So I went to the senior center and waited in the parking lot after bingo and pistol whipped the most intoxicated women I could find. It feels good to be a hero.
I for one am proud of my brother. Not as much because he made an arrest, but more so because he chose to do the rigth thing--in many areas! First, he stopped to help someone that he thought needed help--most people won't do that. Second, he listened to his instincts and reacted in a split second in the most appropriate way--again, most can't do that in tough situations. Third, he is willing to follow through and prosecute--which most people avoid for the inconvenience and desire to be "uninvolved"!
Joe--I am proud of you! Next time, though--call me for backup!
