Brrrrrrr...

It sure is cold around here. It seems that winter is upon us. Christmas will be here before you know it. I really need to get out the Christmas CD's to pull out the Christmas spirit. There's nothing like a little jingle bell rock to get the juices flowing.

Gabe turned 7 last Friday. I can't believe my baby is already 7. He wanted his birthday dinner at Steak and Shake, so we feasted on birthday burgers, cheese fries and milkshakes. As I tucked him in bed that night, he said with a content sigh..."I wish everyday was my birthday".

Jared has now played two basketball games losing by a basket each game. He plays again tonight. Hopefully we will fare better.

Happy (or not) Post Election.

Well the votes have been counted and a new president has been elected. We felt the aftermath today at school. There were rumors of racially motivated crime that was to take place at school at the end of the day. Our administration investigated, but found no evidence to support the rumor. Despite their lack of findings, they took precautions and beefed up security and required that no student be in the hall unless escorted by a principal. I hate that our society has come to this, but very proud and confident in the decision making abilities of our administration.

Girls Trip

This weekend I met 5 of my best friends in Illinois for the weekend. The weekend affirmed how well I chose my friends twenty-plus years ago. I can hardly put in words the special, unique relationships we have. I love that six smart, educated, successful women with strong personalities and opinions get together and listen, respect and learn from each other. We've experienced so much together; the teenage years, college, new marriage, the birth of children and the comfort and struggles of adulthood. I can honestly say that I still genuinely like each of these women and would choose them as friends all over again. Thanks for not turning into a bunch of freaks girls.
